International Destination Wedding (Ulawatu, Bali) – Kim + Mark’s Hot Bali Wedding

Kim + Mark Bali Wedding

I am still smiling from how much fun we had at this wedding.  From Villa Bayuh Sabbha in  Uluwatu (Bali) we took part in our next destination extravagansa. The view was breath taking. Not one, not two, but three infinity pools overlooking the Indian ocean!  The sun was beating down but the guests were provided with pretty parasols to provide additional shade. I love the fact that everything was sourced locally by Baliku Wedding planners. The caterers were fantastic from the canapés to the spectacular dessert table.  The father of the bride gave such a compelling and heart felt speech. Mark surprised all his family and guests and delivered his speech completely in Vietnamese. Throughly impressed, a job well done!!!!

It was truly a celebration for all, smiles all round, and so much fun to be a part of. Thanks to Kim and Mark for having us around. Your guest definitely enjoyed the night as they kicked off their heels to dance the night away. It was an awesome party.  It was an epic party, but I hope you will be sitting around stealing a little peek at these photographs when you get a quiet moment to yourselves. Wishing you both all the very best!

Pre Wedding Shoot (Melbourne, Australia) – Kimberley + Lewis

Kimberley + Lewis Pre wedding shoot

What started out as a fun day in the sun quickly turned into rain and overcast the moment dresses were worn and suits were suited up!

We were out and about this weekend in the city of Melbourne to capture a pre-wedding shoot with Kimberley and Lewis.  But according to Melbourne script, what started off as sunshine and lollipops quickly became rain and on coming thunder!

Lucky for us we were able to capture a few pics prior to the rain coming down and washing us away!  Hope you enjoy the images!

2012 VICTORIAN AIPP EPSON PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS

Fine Art Photography Category (Silver)

What a month! The epic photoshoot for Designs to you, which I am still in the middle of processing, followed by a beautiful wedding in Uluwatu (Bali). The new Mr and Mrs Stanhope celebrated in a relaxed but sophisticated style. Thoughtful additions such as little parasols and personalized fans helped to keep their guest cool.(Mohitos and Pina coladas helped as well). This was definitely a wedding to remember.

Once the Wedding ended I was hoping to swim in the infinity pool but this was far from my reality. Instead I was worried at the thought that my photography entry to the AIPP would be judged in the next hour or so. I watched the  whole event streamed from Bali, watching eagerly as my photograph was being scrutinized in my hometown, Melbourne. After five judges deliberated over the colour, style and post processing, I was awarded a ………………………………Silver medal!

Not bad I suppose, especially as this was my first time participating in such an event. This has just increased my desire to win. Please stay tuned for next year as I hope to further build on these foundations and try to win gold.

I would also like to thank model Holly Valance for being such a great model for the shoot, allowing  me to capture these images. =)

WEDDING SHOES | NIKE AIR FORCE 1 BESPOKE

Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke 2011 (Wedding inspired)

Last year I got married….  After 12 years it was about time.

As my family and friends know.. I am a massive sneaker head.  (Girls, when you say you love shoes… I understand. =P)  So for my wedding, knowing my love for all things with a swoosh… my wife told me I should get a pair of Nike Air Force 1 Bespokes to wear for the occasion! (Bless her!)

For the uninitiated, it is a 1 of a kind custom Nike Air Force 1 made from hundreds of materials to choose from.  As far as Nikes go.. Its the pinnacle for the average sneaker head like me!

So with the help of iZ (Nike Bespoke Genius @ 21 Mercer, New York) and the wonders of the internet, I was able to create myself a pair of wedding shoes.

Originally i was looking to do a whole croc shoe with a grey croc swoosh and black croc all round.  But iZ suggested that I go with black croc and patent leather.  (Also because they ran out of grey croc)

I chose the red patent to give the shoe a more Asian wedding feel as well as gold lace tips.

iZ thought maybe clear soles so it was like I was walking on Air!

With the addition of the double lucky…. My wedding shoes were created!

Tell me what you guys think!  I don’t think I will be wearing these shoes again.  Like my marriage.. I hope once will be enough.  =P

International Destination Wedding (Orlando, Florida. USA) – Andy and Susan’s Springtime Wedding

Andy and Susan’s Wedding

Downtown Orlando Farmer’s Market, Andy found more than just the run of the mill produce. Susan was browsing the stands to find the perfect natural sweetener, you guessed it- honey. Just like a scene from a romantic movie, when their eyes met, life was never going to be the same again.
Susan recounts the story of their life together, smiling fondly as she remembers the road trip Andy planned where he carefully prepared the perfect picnic. Unassuming, Susan chattered and ate sandwiches carefully prepared by chef Andy himself. Then dessert was served, cupcakes from her favorite bakery. How can life get any better? As she eagerly opened the box, a faux diamond ring was one of the cake toppers. Susan was a bit perplexed. Andy broke into laughter and pulled the real one from his pocket. And that is the love story of Mr. and Mrs. Ussach.
A March Wedding in Orlando, Florida? Yes please! Moving pixels started the day by being part of the traditional Vietnamese ceremony. Andy, unfamiliar with all the customs did a wonderful job embracing this new culture.
Susan then changed into a romantic ivory organza sweet heart gown with a swirling tissue organza skirt. Many thoughtful touches were woven throughout the day. A beautiful blue Lincoln Continental completed the well known adage ‘ Something Blue.’ The lucky groom even had his own cake – a red velvet penguin cake. It was such an enjoyable day. From the morning ceremony through to the reception, the day was filled with laughter and mischievous moments. Thank you again for inviting us to document this new chapter in your life.
